Product Introductioin
SMT Heavy Duty Cooling Buffer is an intelligent PCB cooling and temporary storage station installed after reflow oven for SMT assembly lines. It adopts upper and lower convection forced air cooling design, rapidly reducing PCB temperature after soldering while realizing circuit board buffering. Equipped with PLC & touch screen control and standard SMEMA interface, it balances production beat between reflow oven and downstream equipment including AOI, ICT and depaneling machine. The heavy-duty reinforced frame supports long-term stable operation and accommodates PCBs of various sizes, thick copper boards and carrier boards. It effectively relieves thermal stress, prevents board warpage and improves production yield.

What special functions does PCB Cooling Buffer provide?
- Heavy-duty & Robust Construction: Utilizes thickened sheet metal frames and industrial aluminum profiles (as shown in the internal view of Fig 1). It is structurally stable, capable of carrying larger and heavier PCB boards (e.g., server motherboards, thick copper boards) without deformation during long-term operation.
- Multi-layer Independent Cooling Modules: The external multi-layer white air ducts (as shown in Fig 2) support forced exhaust/air blowing, quickly removing residual heat from the PCB, shortening cooling time, and preventing thermal stress from affecting the solder joint quality of components.
- Intelligent Electrical Control: Features a high-quality internal PLC control system and safety relays (clearly visible in Fig 1). It supports automated signal interaction (SMEMA communication protocol) for fully automatic loading, lifting, and unloading without manual intervention.
- High-precision Servo/Stepper Lifting: Utilizes multiple high-precision guide rails and transmission ball screws (base of Fig 1), ensuring absolute stability during the magazine rack’s lifting process, preventing collisions or scratches during PCB pick-and-place.
- Adjustable Capacity: The equipment supports software and hardware adjustments for the number of buffered boards and dwell time to meet varying production cycle requirements.
- Silent Cooling Design: The external modules feature optimized air duct designs to minimize operational noise while ensuring excellent heat dissipation, improving the factory working environment.

Application Fields
- SMT Assembly Lines: Serves as a highly efficient connection device between the Reflow Oven outlet and AOI inspection machines or unloader stackers.
- DIP Wave Soldering Lines: Handles high-temperature boards exiting the wave soldering machine, waiting for subsequent lead cutting, washing, or testing.
- Server & Telecom Equipment Manufacturing: Specifically designed for the transmission and buffering of large, heavy, and thick boards.
- Automotive & EV PCBA: Provides a critical cooling and buffering step for automotive-grade circuit boards that are temperature-sensitive and require strict thermal management.

What feedback did our clients leave?
“Since introducing this cooling buffer machine, there have been no more downtime stoppages at the AOI station due to overheated boards or mismatched beats. Overall line throughput has increased by about 15%.” (Production Supervisor Feedback)
“Previously, soldered boards had to air-dry for a long time. Now, after passing through this fan module, they are instantly ready for the next process. The boards cool evenly with no warpage.” (QC Personnel Feedback)
“The touch screen interface is intuitive. The SMEMA interface is plug-and-play, requiring no complex debugging.” (Operator Feedback)

FAQ Guide
Q1: Does the machine support SMEMA communication connection?
A: Yes. The equipment is equipped with a standard SMEMA interface, which can realize automatic signal docking and linkage with reflow ovens, AOI, ICT and other SMT equipment.
Q2: Does the equipment support automatic width adjustment?
A: Yes. It adopts electric automatic width adjustment, which can quickly adapt to different PCB specifications without manual mechanical adjustment.
Q3: What is your production lead time before shipment?
A: Lead time may extend 5–10 days during peak production season. Rush orders are acceptable upon negotiation.
Product Overview
SMTLINK If you are facing pain points such as SMT line imbalance, process defects caused by hot PCBs, or difficulty handling large-size PCBs, this equipment is a highly cost-effective upgrade solution. It is recommended to select the appropriate number of layers and cooling power based on your maximum PCB dimensions, weight, and the line’s Units Per Hour (UPH) throughput. The solid internal construction shown in Fig 1 ensures high durability, while the cooling modules in Fig 2 highlight its core functionality. When purchasing, it is advisable to confirm if the equipment is equipped with SMEMA standard interfaces and the brand of the servo motor used.
